Facsimile of the illustrated catalogue of London' 1851 Crystal Palace exposition usually known as the Great Exhbibiion. Everything about the Great Exhibition was fantastic - the Crystal Palace, the artifacts from all over the world, Prince Albert's input, the patronage by Queen Victoria and just the sheer number of people who visited. Introduction by George Palmer Blake outlining the background to Paxton's design for the Crystal Palace, the influence of the new journals of design and manufacture and the eventual blossoming of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Over 300 pages of engravings of the most representative objects displayed in the Crystal Palace. 30cm x 24cm Very Good condition in Very Good, white boards,blue spine and Very Good pictorial dustwrapper.
