It is 1918, and German spies set out to steal a railroad shipment in Colorado's Rocky Mountains that could lead to a new weapon. Their theft is successful, but the Spanish Flu pandemic, a railroad bankruptcy, and the German surrender spoil their plans to move the shipment to Germany. So, they hide it; and 97 years later, a nationally known software engineer is told his Naval Commission is reactivated, and he is co-opted into assisting US Naval Intelligence to search for the lost shipment. The Chinese government found a diary with clues to the hiding place and sent agents to search for and acquire the shipment by any means necessary. The race is on between the two superpowers to obtain the components that, if the 1918 diary is to be believed, have the power to create more lethal modern weapons.
