Sinossi
Joseph ist jüdisch und erst sechs Jahre alt, als er untertauchen muss. Im besetzten Belgien überlebt er mit gefälschten Papieren in der »Gelben Villa« von Pater Bims. Seine Eltern sind ohne ihn geflohen und niemand weiß, ob Joseph sie je wiedersehen wird. Von Pater Bims erfährt er, dass er ein Kind von Noah ist, ein jüdischer Junge, der dazu beitragen soll, das sein Glaube trotz aller Bedrohung in der Welt lebendig bleibt.

L'autore
Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt
Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, geboren 1960 in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, studierte Klavier in Lyon und Philosophie in Paris. Mit seinen Erzählungen wie »Monsieur Ibrahim und die Blumen des Koran« wurde er international berühmt und gehört heute zu den erfolgreichsten Gegenwartsautoren in Frankreich. Seine Werke wurden in 40 Sprachen übersetzt und haben sich mehr als zehn Millionen Mal verkauft. Schmitt lebt in Brüssel.
Inés Koebel
Inés Koebel, geboren in Bamberg, arbeitete als Buchhändlerin und freie Feature Autorin. Sie übersetzt aus dem Französischen und Portugiesischen, hat den Band ›Brasilien erzählt‹ (S.Fischer 1994) ediert und ist Mitherausgeberin der neuen Pessoa-Werkausgabe, zuletzt erschien von ihr der Band ›Er selbst‹ . Neben dem ›Buch der Unruhe‹ hat sie die Gedichte von Álvaro de Campos, Alberto Caeiro und Ricardo Reis übertragen sowie Baron von Teive und Pessoas statisches Drama ›Der Seemann‹.
