In-8º. 2 vol. (40), 510, pp, (4), 384,pp, Original engraving by B. Albiztux, with a beautiful image of Santa TeresaTeresa s. Bound in original full vellum title inked in the spine. Fray Diego de Yepes (Yepes, 1530 - Tarazona, 1613) Spanish bishop, prelate of the Order of Saint Jerome. Appointed Bishop of Tarazona on September 27, 1599, he occupied the diocese until his death in that town on May 20, 1613. His mortal remains rest in the church of the Discalced Carmelite convent of Santa Ana de Tarazona that he himself founded during his mandate, in fulfillment of the promise made to the Santa Avila when he found it in Osma in 1581 on the way to exile. In addition to this reformed Carmelite foundation he laid the first stone to the convent of Discalced Carmelites of San José de Tudela, which had been founded in 1527, gave statutes to the convent of Franciscan nuns of La Concepción de Tarazona (1601) and promoted the founding of a school of that Carmelite order (first order, male) in Huesca, which would not happen until a few years after his death, in 1627. Being a bishop, at his expense the Mannerist altarpiece of the main altar of the Turiasonian cathedral dedicated to the Virgin was carved of the Hydria or the Huerta. Also during his government in the Aragonese diocese, he ordered the construction of a chapel in honor of Saint Joseph in the monastery where he was ordained, of Santa Maria de la Sisla de Toledo, later adorned with the relics of Saint Teresa that he himself donated to that house . On July 7, 1606, he administered the sacrament of confirmation to what would eventually be known as María de Jesús de Ágreda, a Conceptionist nun and advisor to King Felipe IV; at that time the town of Ágreda (today part of the diocese of Osma-Soria) belonged to that of Tarazona. He also administered this sacrament to Juan de Palafox y Mendoza, bishop who was to be of Puebla and Osma, viceroy of New Spain, protector of the arts and letters, and venerated as Blessed in the Catholic Church.
