Preserved in a blue cloth slip-case. § First edition in this form. The text of the constitution of September 3, 1791, as adopted by the Assemblée Nationale, and accepted by King Louis XVI on September 14, 1791. it established a constitutional monarchy with a clear separation of powers, declaring, however; that "la personne du Roi est invioable et sacrée." In spite of this, within a year Louis had been deposed and the Republic was proclaimed. Codice articolo 123788
