Grosset & Dunlap, New York. 1921 (1932.) First photoplay edition with stills from the 1932 United Artists film starring Joan Crawford and Walter Huston. The copyright page states 1921 however the film, which this photoplay was assembled from, was released in 1932. Joan Crawford's desirable and attractive illustrated image is on the front of the original DJ while her photo is on the rear, and 16 film stills grace the endpapers, mostly of Joan Crawford. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Orange cloth stamped in black titles with green topstain. Orange panels show minor soiling, with a touch of shelf-rubbing. Attractive DJ shows two closed edge tears on rear with shallow chipping and minor soiling. Page edges show light general soiling. A tight copy in the attractive Mach Tey illustrated DJ. VG/VG.
