Legatura seicentesca in piena pergamena floscia, tassello manoscritto sul dorso, firma d' appartenenza sul piatto anteriore (qualche segno d' usura lungo i tagli dei piatti). Al frontespizio, grande ritratto in xilografia di Aristotele rappresentato di profilo entro cornice ovale bordata dalla dicitura "vera Aristotelis Stagiritae efigies Peripateticae disciplinae principis". Al colophon, impresa tipografica dello Scoto con la Pace rappresentata da una donna seduta sul mondo con in mano un ramo d' olivo ed il motto "Fiat pax in virtute tua". Numerosi capilettera xilografici. Ex-libris di illustre biblioteca senese ottocentesca applicato sul margine inferiore del frontespizio "Bibliothecae Petri Buoninsegni Senis 1814". Qualche piccolo ed insignificante tarletto al margine esterno di poiche carte, peraltro esemplare in più che buono stato di conservazione generale. Bella ed importante edizione dei fondamentali commenti del filosofo peripatetico Temistio sulle opere di Aristotele le cui dottrine egli considerava intimamente affini a quelle platoniche. La sua parafrasi al "De anima" fu inoltre largamente utilizzata da Averroè, che la rese centrale nel dibattito sull intelletto agente e l' immortalità dell anima. Le opere di Temistio sono qui riportate nella celebre traduzione latina che ne fece, a soli diciannove anni, l' umanista veneziano Ermolao Barbaro. Bibliografia: Adams, T453; manca al Riley.
