Ephemera. A collection of 6 feature cover stories on the singer, songwriter, actress, and author Madonna (Madonna Louise Ciccone) from Vanity Fair 1991 and 2008, Esquire 1994, Harper's Bazaar 1994, Vogue 1996, and the New York Times Magazine 2019, some with a fashion portfolio. Photographers include Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Wayne Maser, and others. The collection also has a couple of clippings from Rolling Stone with photos of the star, an illustrated portrait from Entertainment Weekly, some interview subscription cards, and an exhibition announcement card for an exhibition of photographs of Madonna by Guy Oseary. Condition: The Times magazine is a complete issue and is Fine. Some of the other magazine covers have been roughly removed but the interior pages have all been carefully cut out; all six of the cover features appear to be complete, the single image clippings are just that. Will be sandwiched securely between stiff layers of cardboard and shipped the next business day.

A very fine copy in spiral bound die-cut aluminum boards and in a fine example of the original shipping bag. As new and never opened copy.

Though almost identical (with the same pagination & exact same layout), the differences between the more-common US edition & this scarce Japanese edition are as follows: FIRST & FOREMOST the Japanese edition is printed on fine GLOSSY paper, rendering a LOT more depth of CLARITY (the US edition is printed on flat paper, & comparing the two side-by-side - as we have copies of both - the Japanese edition is strikingly CLEARER throughout); the Japanese edition has 4 pages with intimate genitalia blackened out in the printing process (of MEN's genitals only); the Japanese edition contains BOTH Japanese & English text (6 internal pages with Japanese superimposed over the English text, so both are readable, plus the comic book, introductory text, & acknowledgements at rear are all in Japanese only); the Japanese edition contains an extra 8 pages at rear (with the translations from English to Japanese of all the additional text pages within the book that aren't actually translated on the particular superimposed page, with small thumbnail images of each of the pages); & finally the Japanese edition has no serial number stamped to rear cover.
