The Puma GT was a sports car manufactured in Brazil and South Africa, being the first model produced with the Brazilian brand Puma. In its initial period of manufacture, in 1967, it used chassis and mechanics of DKW origin. For this reason the first Pumas were later known as Puma DKW. The Puma Veículos e Motores Ltda produced approximately 170 of these cars, and established a concept that used until 1985: design and manufacture bodywork in fiberglass, mount these bodies on the platform of a street vehicle, with engine and suspension modified for a better performance and add a compatible finish with a sports car. This concept, far from keeping the car in production for 20 years, made possible the creation of a Brazilian manufacturer of cars and trucks. C4.
