Architectural treatise and house plan by modernist theorist architect Eisenman, inscribed by him to Mike McCabe, owner of the former Lion's Head Books (now the premises of Johnnycake Books) in Salisbury CT. Eisenman designed and built at least two modernist structures in NW Connecticut when he was at Yale and would frequent McCabe's bookstore located in the small town of Salisbury there. Inscribed on the title page: "11 Apr 83 FOR MIKE FROM: PETER for my favorite bookstore anywhere! Peter Eisenman" Laid-in are pull sheets from Progressive Architecture June 1977 which has a pictorial review of one of the House VI which Eisenman built in Cornwall CT, just southeast of Salisbury. Stern, Charles Moore, etc.), five architects (Eisenman, Charles Gwathmey, John Hejduk, Richard Meier, and Michael Graves) some of whose work was presented at a CASE Studies conference in 1969. Eisenman received a number of grants from the Graham Foundation for work done in this period. These architects' work at the time was often considered a reworking of the ideas of Le Corbusier. Subsequently, the five architects each developed unique styles and ideologies, with Eisenman becoming more affiliated with Deconstructivism. 0 g.
