Scattered light foxing, a few wrinkles to endpapers, some cracking to inner front hinge, bump to spine head with some joint separation, one gathering slightly proud, tiny faint mark to rear cover, a clean VG copy in the publishers cardboard box which is worn and faintly stained, with internal reinforcement to upper and lower compartments, and with 5cm loss to side edge of upper compartment and loss of entire front edge of lower compartment. Overall the fragile box is in better than fair condition - the text on the front edge reads "PRICE $7.50. COLERIDGE'S THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER. ILLUSTRATED BY GUSTAVE DORE. ALTEMUS EDITION". A beautiful and probably a unique copy of this spectacular edition. Extra postage will apply.

Ex-library copy with shelf mark in white pen on backstrip, bookplate on front pastedown, blind-stamp on title, and library pocket on rear pastedown. Letter presenting the book to the library tipped to front free endpaper. § First American edition. (First London edition was 1875.) A respectable ex-library copy (properly released) of an uncommon book very hard to find in good condition.
