Speckled binding with title on gilt label on spine, with library labels to foot of spine and front board, from the Schonborn Buchheim family library. The armorial bookplate of Monsieur le Conte de Schonborn Buchheim to front pastedown endpaper. Elegant engraved head and tail pieces with historiated initials. Some light staining throughout, some dark stains to leaves 100-103. and foot of p. 129, partially affecting text. A tiny tear to margin of p. 78, but text unaffected. Light rubbing to edges, spine ends. Else in very good condition. A continuation of the epic poem, Orlando Furioso, originally completed by Italian poet Ludovico Ariosto in 1532 about the Italian romantic hero, Ruggiero, which was an inspiration for later writers such as Edmund Spencer and fabulist Jean De La Fontaine.
