Vintage original 7 x 11" (20 X 29.5 cm.) borderless black-and-white print still photo, France. Macha Meril, Philippe Leroy, dir: Jean-Luc Godard; Columbia. Scarce behind-the-scenes French photo of director Jean-Luc Godard directing actors Macha Meril and Philippe Leroy, in his 1964 drama UNE FEMME MARIÉE [A MARRIED WOMAN]. You can clearly tell that the two actors are paying very close attention to his instructions, which look to be quite emphatic. He shot his films very quickly; you can see that he was a very domineering personality! Date stamped on back "JUIL. [JULY] 1964" and with the stamp also of photographer Jean Lattes, fine.
